Privacy Policy
Updated 20 September 2026
Tachwire does not collect personal data and does not transmit it anywhere. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own.
What the app processes on your phone
- Vehicle data from the OBD adapter over Bluetooth: rpm, speed, temperatures, pressures, hybrid state, VIN. It powers the gauges and the drive history.
- Location (“While Using”): the drive route, speed cross-check and lap timing. Used only while CarPlay is connected.
- Motion (accelerometer and gyroscope): cornering g-forces and acceleration runs.
- Bluetooth: the link to the OBD adapter.
Where it is stored
Everything is written to the app’s Documents/Logs folder on your iPhone and is visible in the Files app. Older raw recordings are removed automatically once they exceed one gigabyte; summaries stay. Deleting the app deletes everything.
What leaves the phone
Nothing, automatically. The only way data is transferred is when you tap “Send the last drive” and choose a recipient in the system share sheet: the files then go where you sent them, and nowhere else.
TestFlight and Apple
During beta testing Apple may collect crash reports and tester feedback under the TestFlight terms; that is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours.
